My aunt recently cleaned out the garage at her house and gave me a box of random stuff, the wheel brace and scissor jacks are useful but there's a few of these things in the box that I have no idea what they are. Any ideas  Thanks. |

Looks to me like a clamp or a puller, there may be additional parts which the legs will slot into
Are there any makers marks visible as that can help identification

No there's nothing on it. There 4 in total one is about half the size of this on.
Could always change if for some threaded rod and make a puller of some sort.

It's a clamp from a set of V blocks. Pretty useless unless you have the blocks to match.

Nice one mate. Highly unlikely as the shape on the ends is wrong. Yours look like they have a radius on the end. All the ones for a vee block have two lugs that locate into a groove. More likely from some sort of puller with exchangeable legs... |

Nope. They are v block clamps. For the type of V blocks that have two cylindrical slots running down them.

 This is a vee block and clamp. Note the shape of the ends that fit into the square groove. Slater, care to enlighten me as to how the round radiused ends in the OP's picture ,fit into a square groove? Must be missing something,as I have never seen a vee block with a cylindrical groove,lol. Plenty with a square groove.... |

 Quick google My guess is it gives you more freedom clamping and enables you to put into a vice etc. |

That's a bloody good idea. Everyday a school day. Have only ever seen,and have vee blocks with the grooves in the side. They make much more sense if you want to clamp into a vice etc. Thanks for the info!

That's for clearing it up. I'll probably hang on to them and see if I can find the blocks. My aunt might have them there still

I guessed they were a clamp but thought they were part of some sort of specialty tool, not a toolroom standard, just in a style I hadn't seen Ttfn Glenn |
