I spent a very enjoyable weekend at the hillclimb just chilling out, eating fantastic food and enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of old cars being thrashed up the hill. Bliss. Wonderful stuff. Shame it clashed with Le Mans I'd really liked to have gone.

This was such a great event last year I was dissappointed when I discovered I couldn't go this year. Looks like it was at least as good again though, with some of teh same and some different cars. Thanks for the photos

Wonderful stuff. Shame it clashed with Le Mans I'd really liked to have gone. Yeah, it was a real shame that Le Mans clashed with it but maybe next year it won't. It was. This was such a great event last year I was dissappointed when I discovered I couldn't go this year. Looks like it was at least as good again though, with some of teh same and some different cars. Thanks for the photos I would say it was much better than last year as they had learnt a lot and improved things in general. The layout was much better with the bridge crossing the track before the finish line rather than around the back of the hotel. The catering was superb with at least double the vendors plus lots more seating both in the open and inside open sided marques which still gave a great view of both the track and the giant screens. There was a free vintage fun fair down by the start line and a few car clubs put on displays like The Chummy Ladies who all owned and drove Austin Chummies and the VHRA parked amongst the trees which were pretty cool. They employed manually operated temporary traffic lights to stop the traffic on the main road to allow people to leave which made things so much easier than last year and was much appreciated. I'm glad that you enjoyed the pics so far and I'll be sure to put some more up during the week.

Be keeping an eye out for this next year. It's worth following them on Twitter for more photos, videos and news on the next event plus discounts for tickets as well. Chateau Impney Hill Climb
