Hi all,
I have some Cobra Slot mags and would like to change the offset so they are tucked further under the arches. Its on a 1970 VW beetle with lots of suspension mods.
Would a machine shop tackle this?
Any things to watch out for or be cautious of?
Any shops in herts or beds that would take it on?
Cheers, Stu

To be honest you ain't gonna be able to machine more than a few MM of without reducing the wheels structural strength. A few MM on something to clear a sliding door on a van, yes, inches to clear wheel arches, wouldn't want to say that that is a good idea..

There's unlikely to be enough thickness under the bolt holes to machine any off before the wheel bolts fall through the holes.

I don't know how the above can answer the question without seeing any pics.
Wheels can be machined, but it does depend on how much meat is left on the mounting surface,
A machine shop would be able to advise, might not be cheap though

if the hub of the wheel is thick enough but the wheel bolt holes quite shallow you could use inserts.
beware that you can quickly rub out of caliper clearance

No wheel manufacturer makes a wheel with a hub thick enough that you can machine 15mm off it,or more to make any reasonable change in offset.... And before you ask, I think I qualify as a machinist...

As above. A couple of mm yes. Any more and you are asking to have a very bad day. Wheels shouldn't really be messed with, they have to deal with large stresses. Sell the wheels and get a set with the right offset. Will cost more but has the advantage of not killing you!
