My brother's Applause has recently passed its MoT and now we have a list of jobs to sort over the next 12 months thoughts turned to tyres and, in turn, to wheels. Originally it had steels with hard plastic trims and it looked just like this.
At the moment the poor thing is wearing a borrowed pair of Corsa B alloys that have no centre caps on the front with a borrowed pair of Rover 400 steels with Applause trims on the back as that's what we've got that fits and has good tyres on. It's not a good look! Hampered further by one of the original trims having gone really brittle and shattering when it was removed, a couple of the others are going the same way, which is a bit of a shame.
The idea with the Applause is to keep things looking OEM, at the very most resto-mod. It's a rare and quirky looking little car now so it doesn't really need anything to make it stand out, my brother just wants to make it look smart. Problem is he's spoiled for choice with wheels and is finding it difficult to decide what to fit. 4x100, et45 (possibly 43, going from memory with this), 14" gives him loads and loads of wheels to choose from at all price ranges.
He does know that he doesn't want something that's going to look aftermarket, that it should be a 14" or 15" only and he's not after lots of dish and poke (though they can stick out a bit further than the Corsa alloys, there's space for it). Please do feel free to suggest wheels that might work and photoshop an illustration of this using any of the pictures in this post.
TL:DR What 14" or 15" OEM looking 4x100 wheels would you fit to this car?
