Got my first car at the weekend, a VW Polo 1.4 Estate! I know it's not that retro (2001) but it's quirky (Just look at that paint!) and over 10 years old so... Here she is though: You'll have to make do with the one picture since it's still all the way in peterborough and I'm in Suffolk . I'll get some better shots up when I get it home. Love the colour and so stoked I found a 1.4, apparently it's the only one in the country so that's pretty cool! Let me know what you think!

Always liked the smooth flat end of the estate. I'm sure there's a build thread for another one here.

I adore the colour of this Polo! I wanted a saloon myself a couple of years ago, with a TDI engine. I had a choice between one in dark blue and my old MK3 Golf. I chose the Golf in the end, but still would like the Polo! What have you got planned for it?

Can't say I've seen one like it before and yeah I was planning on a saloon too since I didn't think the estates came with 1.4s but here we are haha and to begin with just clean up all the rough stuff, some coilovers, wheels and small details. Nothing huge since it's my first car but if I can hold onto it for long enough who knows what I'll do

So finally have the car at my mums now and got a friend (br00klyn99) to get some better photos of the car for me, and here's a few of them: Small dent under the polo badge, will need to do something about that. Obligatory Status Error sticker and air freshener. Also a crank sensor is currently faulty so getting that repaired this Friday as it means I can't use the car for more than 15 mins depending on how hot it is.

This is cool. I like my mk3 golf variant for the same reasons. Wagons rock

So small update this time, but progress is progress. One of the few worn items in the interior I plan on replacing was the shifter boot, it was very worn and needed to go. I bought a universal VW one on eBay and just got done fitting it. Here's some before, during and after photos: The black on the shift knob and gaiter match much better in real life and looks much better than I thought it would!

Very nice indeed. Always preferred the estates over the saloons or hatches in most things!! Not being a pedant but has it got different wheel trims side to side??

Yes it does I think the dealer did it to try and be sneaky cause it's not something you notice at first glance, not gonna do much about it since the hubcaps on the side I like I can't find anywhere and I'll be getting alloys soon enough so it's not an issue

Cheeky bu66er, what wheels you going for? Either some extreme offest wheels of some kind, or banded steels. Won't be for a while though cause I'll probably go lower before I get wheels

So a couple of small updates since this is my first car and I don't have the funds to do anything major (yet) First is just stereo stuff as what was in the car didn't do what I need it to. Which was sound decent, be able to be played loud and not kill itself and mainly be able to play and control my phone. I went with a pioneer deck as they are a decent brand and it does all I need it to (No CD player!) The cream speakers are more a matter of they were the only resonably priced ones I could find in that size (4"x6") Unfortunately the covers don't fit over them but I like how they look so it doesn't bother me too much, luckily the front covers fit since those speakers are a bit chavvy looking but I had them lying around and they sound decent. The next thing was some tinted side repeaters from a MK4 GTI? Anyway I got them super cheap and they look much better than the faded ones that came with the car. The final thing was some obligatory pressed plates, also got to put my VW plate holder to good use. This is how the car currently sits, hopefully lows are coming before the end of the year if the insurance company are nice to me

Still mainly interior upgrades at the moment as I don't have the funds for anything major. Got a Vibe Dual 12 inch active subwoofer system from a friend, I plan on changing the drivers as they look very Halfords special and have a bit of damage. It's plenty to get the car shaking but I'll probably build my own system in the future. Anyway here it is: Also as a Christmas gift from me to me, I treated myself to an OMP Mugello wheel and the MOMO hub to go with it. I absolutely love it and it feels 100x better than the standard one. I also got a new shift knob straight from china, which is very marmite, but I like it so who cares.
