I took the water tank out my bedford to check/clean. The exhaust hanger had broken and the steel protector had rotted. Exhaust was to close to the tank and its melted a 30mm round hole in the tank.
Repairable?
Also, there is a water level indicator. There is a sender in the tank and a sight tube inside (high up).
It has a thin pipe connecting them. I assume it works by capillary action somehow?
I need to disconnect it but there is no joins anywhere in the pipe. It has been threaded through holes so must be doable some how. Can I just cut it close to one end and try and get the remains out to glue it back in again after?
A quick check shows all this stuff isnt cheap so want to try and get it all fixed rather than replace.
