So I have acquired a Panasonic F35 for the BMW- (I assume) it has a DIN 8 pin output on the back, a lá- I would like to adapt it to RCA, much like this- I can get one of those but only from America for about £40, which seems a tad much as if I had the pin-out I could easily make that. Anyone got any clues or help? Cheers!

I would suggest researching on google. You might find that it uses the same pin-out as blaupunkt who also commonly used din back in the day. There is lots of info out their for old blaupunkt gear, less so for panasonic in my experience. Other option would be to open the radio up and trace the wiring back to the relevent ic, the google the ic part no, to find the pin out for that.

I had a dig through my old service info (I used to be a car audio fitter in the 80's)and found this which I think is the correct diagram for you:
