Has anyone got a gearknob with overdrive switch? If it has the gate printed on it, it needs to be 4 speed with reverse left and forward. I guess I could modify one with a different pattern if it was cheap though.
Ideally, bedford cf, but that aint going to happen. Any old vauxhall?

If it's like a transit one they are like finding poor quality wobbly children's play pony poo! If you do get one wire it to run via a relay to take the load off the switch, it should last a lot longer that way.

Beddy ones are rare yeah, but ill modify something to work. Got to be better than the cheap toggle on the dash. Original was replaced many years ago by the looks of it. Good idea on the relay

Triumph ones might be the same as well, I bought one for my 2000 but that was a few years ago now. I think 2000, Dolomite, Spitfire, Stag etc are all the same.

Good point, not sure about spitfire ones though. Just looked and found this from Rimmer brothers. I can't comment on the quality but they list them, any good ? www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-155030

It hadnt occurred to me that new ones might be available.
Bit spendy, but I could probably get just the cap and modify it to fit a different knob.
Thanks.

It would appear volvo is the right pattern, no idea if it would screw on, but I guess I could sort something.
They seem as rare as any of the others though!

The caps aren't easy to get off but there is a chance you could find a used one. Hadn't thought of a Volvo one and I've got a 940 ! I might have a picture somewhere of how they fit on the lever I will have a look later.

Surely MGB, as posted, is the right pattern and easily obtainable? Going hunting for obscure old Volvo ones is just making work for yourself, surely?

Your right you know, and I even googled images when I first posted it to double check and the first one that came up was the correct pattern. My google-fu has failed me. Weird. Edit- it's this image. Which, can't be an MGB 'knob, even though it's the first hit on Google. Irritating, but, it's what you want, surely. The replacement cap looks like it would fit an MGB o/d knob. Could be a cheap way to do it? www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-155030

Yeah, thats the one linked above. If I cant find something cheap and used it will probably be my only option.
