The head gasket's gone in our ropy old forklift, and I need it running again before the four 40ft container loads of stuff turn up on Friday...
I can find the torque settings for the head bolts, but not a sausage about the setting for the rocker assembly or manifolds.
Can anyone advise, or even hazard a guess as to how tight I should do them? It's a Toyota 4P engine (which is surprisingly pleasant to work on after the pig that is the cosworth 24v), so iron heads, and the bolts and studs holding the rocker assembly are M6, and the manifold studs are M8.
The rocker cover, some of the rocker assembly fixings, and most of the manifold studs were all finger tight after the last Charlie replaced the head gasket without skimming it, so I've no real idea how tight they should feel even.
Any help would be appreciated, otherwise it'll be a spot of guesswork and hoping.
Cheers,
Jake
