Well its definitely not retro but theres been a few other berlingo/partner threads on the fourm so I figured this one would do no harm
A about a year ago a mate of mine bought this and started driving it as a run around, He got about 5 months out of it before the 1.9D straight engine shat its head gasket. He didn't have the tools nor money to fix the van so it lay at the back of his house for around 2 months. At the end of that 2 month period he was going to England for work so the van had to go.. 1 phone call out of the blue later and I owned a 2001 Berlingo with a blown engine.
1. Fired up the tractor, threw on trailer and went to collect the van (A 6 or so mile trip there). Some of you may have seen the build thread for this tractor in the ''Other projects'' section of the fourm.
2. And here she is! 01-DL-7894. Fairly straight, 2 good front tires, 2 bald back tired, a blown engine, Half of the engine compartment in the back of the van, a few dents here and there and no radio. Why didn't I just stay at home and leave my money in my pocket?
3. Fairly straight. Need a new fuel filler cap door but.
4. Rear doors hanging crooked and back windows need to be repainted over.
5. The interior. Straight enough, both seats are tired but. Also a distinct lack of a Radio as I previously mentioned. The plan in here is to fit a pair of 306 HDI half leather seats. These don't bolt straight in but it can be done without much bother. Luckily I have a 306 with half leathers for breaking at the moment so the total cost for the seats will be zero.
