Hi All,
Following Mystery Machine and his escapades buyingmy his Porsche 912 and given that I'm a Brit who somehow found his way into Canada and managed to make a success of living in possibly the best place on earth. I figured I should give something back. After all, the United Kingdom can't survive on marmalade royalties forever.
I've had a few people PM me asking if I could keep my eyes open for specific cars. I can and will continue to do that for those who are seriously looking. For everyone else, I thought a little 'Bringatrailer' style thread updated when something seems like a good deal and a little harder to find at home.
I'm not a business, just a guy who likes cars, so please no silly requests. If you are genuinely interested I may be able to go take a look for you, or have someone I know local to that area look on your behalf. I do have a full time job, better half, life, Datsun & a 911 to finish
The Canadian dollar is TERRIBLY weak right now, and the pound is doing very well against it (highest I've seen it in 8 years!) so basically, if you're flush and you want a bargain, screw going to the States, come here, see some bears, drink maple syrup and meet the friendliest people on earth. So long as it will fit in a shipping container (sorry if you want a Unimog) shipping works out to be about 1600 pounds, you go collect it at the docks. It is VERY doable.
Just a tip, if the link is dead, it's likely sold. Don't email, call and explain your situation, you are infinitely more likely to succeed in nabbing a car.
So...with that said..lets start with a 1972 Alfa Romeo Veloce 2000 GT (heck I might even call the seller for this one!) (I'll get a price before I give more details on it).
Next, and a bit different, hailing from Toronto Ontario.....a doorless 1967 Ford Econoline. 1,231 quid!
1 of 618 built. This van has rear cargo doors and the front passenger doors, no doors on either side. Has no side or rear windows either. Front floors have been patched and look pretty good, outer body has had patch panels that need to be finished. 6 cylinder engine runs nice, but no brakes. This van has been off the road for many years, and will need some work before it can be driven. This is a very rare flat nose van, and well worth restoring.
Next....a barn find 1966 Porsche 912 Mystery Machine
1966 Porsche 912 with numbers matching engine and trans Car has been off road in storage for many years does have some rust but car is 90 percent complete motor was disassembled for rebuilding. 7,406.39 quid
Personally, I think this is expensive given it's not complete but hey ho.
Lastly for today, we have a 1978 AMC Pacer
for a bargain 2073 english pounds!
This little gem is actually in my city. 1978 Red AMC Pacer. 30,000 miles. 6 Cylinder 258 Motor. Runs great and smooth on the road. A/C but not working. AM/FM, 8 Track.
