or gone 'too far'??
with the rat, i had it all sitting spanky, just they way i liked it. then i decided it needed a few more things. i started them, but now i don't get the same buzz, and it feels almost depressing in the car becasue its not just how i want it anymore. its like ive gone into modifying overload and taken it too far from the original concept...

Thats what I am thinking with the chequer bonnet (that I am doing) might be a modification for the sake of it. but i have a spare and I am going to give it a bash anyway...... In the words of Dr. Pepper "whats the worst that could happen?", oh and post pics as well

When I got my capri I took off the 80's sunroof wind deflector thing that it came with. If I had bought a capri without one then you can bet I'd have been searching ebay for one to put on ;D Usually its just change for changes sake with me

One of the only bits of advise my dad ever gave me that I have remotely felt valid.
"If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it"
So true, especially when it comes to older cars!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Its very easy to go too far its the problem most people have when modifying cars, even if its a sticker or something small like that. I saw a euro style punto going down to bristol it was really cool, nice deep dish wheels, smoothed with a nice paint colour. All was fine apart from the owner had stuck one of those "mafia staff car" stickers on the bootlid. Completely ruined it for me it looked curse word and completely out of place.

before: as prepped for Stanford Hall this year... after: has now got another spotlight on the roofrack, and an old jerry can. the rear door windows have lots of rally stickers, neatly applied, and i've put in a mountney wheel with yellow centre, which looks suitably tired. was inteding to put in a yellow bucket seat too. its not much but its mods done for the sake of doing them, not adding anything to the look, and in fact probably overdoing it. taking the stuff off the roof tonight, and possibly rethinking putting the spotlight pod onto the spare bonnet and putting that on...

I was going to say a jerry can or oil drum would be good, but if you've already got a jerry can, jobs done.
Post some pics up of it now, but personally with a project like this you can't go far enough!
Edit: and a massive, massive slam!!!!!!
