I'm sure this is very obvious to those in the MX5 world.... During my last (OK second) track day I experienced tyre rubbing on the the front right tyre (anti-clockwise track). The car is fitted with Gaz Gold Pro coilovers on the front but tired lowered suspension at the back and standard bushes etc, running 195/50 15 tyres. It's lowered but nothing stupid and the coilovers are turned up pretty stiff, the front end feels solid when you do the bounce test. Should I junk the inner wings, the tyre has rubbed a hole anyway, maybe roll the arches... What's a sensible ride height for a track focused car? Over the winter I plan to fit the rear coil-overs, replace all n=bushes and get an alignment set up. Have some photos, showing how hard I was leaning on the front right; Mark

My drift MX5 runs the same size tyres. The arch liners have been removed and the arches rolled. The suspension is set quite stupidly low and it still doesn't rub.

Same here, pull the liners and roll the arches,or least the tabs.don't forget to make sure crud doesnt build up at the bottom of the front wings.
I reckon you need stiffer springs on the front..... ;0)

No idea about sensible ride height for a track car but I'm surprised how much roll you have there, how many more clicks do you have on your shocks?

Think I need to double check I've got the right springs on the front... they should be the 400/300 mid set of springs. I'm sure it needs a bush refresh, including the anti-roll bar. Coilovers are 4 clicks down from max. Looking at images of other MX5's at the same corner there isn't much difference in the amount of roll.
First things will be to remove the inner arch (think I'll leave a bit to stop crud building up at the front of the sill) and bend back the tabs, or cut them off.
I probably won't be doing another track day until next year now so will hopefully sort out rear coilovers, bushes etc before then.
Thanks for the comments.
