On the look out for a daily

Have a 91 Mitsubishi GTO non turbo if that's retro enough for you? Also a 2001 320ci convertible but have a feeling that's a bit too modern!

My 5,s used as a daily untra reliable and fun

I've got a remapped 1.8 20vt mk4 golf gti that has been a reliable daily for me for the last 4 months or so and for a mate for the previous 3 or so years. Probably too modern but always worth a try

No add as it's too new for the sale section. I was very much the same as you re the mk1/2, had a mk1, many mk2's and loved them all, had 2 mk3's and hated them. Never gave the mk4 a thought because it was just looked like an even fatter mk3, but after getting this it's world's away from the lazy and mundane vr6 I had.

It's had TT bushes fitted as a happy medium between standard bushes and poly bushes
Lowered 20mm on koni (iirc) springs
Remapped, no print out but we hooked a boost gauge up and it holds 16psi (standard is 7psi).
It's had the vac hoses replaced and a mod to simplify the system and remove a troublesome electronic valve (can't remember the name of it now but it's a common mod)
Cam belt was done at 115k (now on 127k)

It's got a few marks around it and a damaged mirror
Wear on the drivers bolster
Armrest is broken

Mot is up next month but I'll be putting a fresh one on in the next week or so. MAF sensor has given up the ghost after I tried cleaning it, again this will he sorted before I sell it



Hasn't got those wheels on anymore, it's now got some standard skoda alloys and the mirror in veiw in the pic is the one that recently took a stone to it

I'm after £750 for it

Got a matte black rover 45, 16 petrol, just put a new battery and replaced the alt, on cut springs drives perfect. £400 ono 02 plate, 71000 odd

Must say I came stupidly close to going for the 5 as there is just something I love about them.
