I've decided to pop the Rav4 up for sale, it was a bit of an impulse buy after my recent accident (Someone kindly pulled across my path as I was doing 50mph) pretty soon after had this and it's bull bars on my drive way! Hangover from accident much!? Plus I'm having a hard time settling on a car this year, the Rav4 being my sixth of the year after a standard AW11, a mk1.5 AW11, the WD21(now written off),a SWB 300zx and a mk1 Mx5.
Anyway now the dust has settled and insurance wise everything is nearly finalised this sits on the drive unused. I shall be getting a 4WD saloon shortly(think Legacy B4) so it makes this winter vehicle redundant.
I drove it about 200 miles home from collecting it and she performed brilliantly. It's a really smooth drive and quite a nice place to be. The engine pulls as it should and the gearbox is silky smooth. I've drove it about 70 miles since and again performs as you'd expect, really well. Handles modern traffic really well and will sit at 70 all day long.
There is service history up to 17000 miles but nout after that. There are receipts for a major service, new timing belt and new crank seal in June this year and also a new battery this year. I bought it off a elderly couple, it was the wife's car but she struggled to use it due to replacement hip surgery. They never had any trouble in it and did plenty of long road trips.
It's had just four owners including myself, the previous owner had it since January so two long term owners since 1996.
There is Air Con, a manual sun roof, really light power steering, electric windows, electric mirrors, central locking, spare wheel with a new tyre on, wind detectors,2 keys, 2 spare tyres.
Bad bits? The roof lights don't work, they did when I bought it but then after flashing them on and off like an excited schoolgirl they now don't, fuse perhaps. There is a slight knock when turning left at slow speed on full lock, knocks just the once.
The styling is a bit marmite and I'm undecided over it, but it looks a lot better in person than pictures and it's quite chunky. It draws people's attention when out in it, whether good or bad
All in all a great little car, 4WD for the winter, smooth and really enjoyable driver, Stood for a week and starts on the button.
Oh and no rust at all on this car and considering that it's red the paint has held up really well.
The price is what I paid, if you want a little reduction on it you'll have to be standing in front of me with cash.
Cheers for reading, any questions PM me.
MAY be interested in a swap for something interesting, but it'd have to be reliable and daily worthy, and perhaps to cheap to run to contrast the next petrol guzzler, but an outright sale is preferred.
