Hi guys, Well, I've been hiding away on another forum for the last year or so ...with about five active members ...A lovely buch of guys, but I think it's time for a wider audience!
Here's my Toyota Low-Lux: retro/patina/lowrider minitruck project thing ...which is also my daily driver, work vehicle for my metal fabrication business ...and transporter for my twin toddlers:
How it looked when I bought it in July of last year:

Aren't the sidelights and bumper from a Surf? OP - that 'Lux looks great. I loved my old mk3, although I did like looking over the hedgerows

Aren't the sidelights and bumper from a Surf? No, they lean the other way like this / rather than \ like the Hilux.

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

So, the work I've done on it so far (the short version anyway... ): The previous owner obviously wanted a 4x4 ...(so why not just buy one? ...weird) Removed all the fake 4x4 stuff ...took it to bits, cut out all the rust and welded in new metal:

Anyway, after removing the bed I discovered the fuel tank was rusted to death ...asked my mate the scrappy to get me a plastic tank ...any tank, as long as it's plastic. So he produces the biggest tank I've ever seen - from some Iveco lorry thing ...time for some chassis reworking:

Various improvements followed - including a top-end engine rebuild, complete fuel pump recon, and basically replacement of just about every mechanical part that could ever go wrong... well, we hope Anyway, that let me get on with the cosmetic bits...
