I like pick up trucks. I have no idea why, as a kid my parents never had them, and niether did anyone i knew, but for me, they've always had a special place. As a kid growing up there wern't the amount of pick up trucks on the road that there are now, nobody had one privately, if you had one, it was because the company that you worked for issued you with one. The company that my Dad worked for had two, a VW crew cab, and a Commer crew cab, both grey in colour, well it was the 1970's no point having colourful vans when the telly is black and white! To this day i have never seen another Commer crew cab, but even as a five year old i knew it was cool! Anyway, i like pick ups, i've always considered to be a coupe sort of fella, or maybe an estate car sort of fella, but no matter what i drive i always have a bit of a desire to get a pick up! I've even had a few, here are the few pick ups i have owned:- Tata WifeBeta... That wasn't pretty either, but the engine was good! Tata EggBeta... Again, not pretty but you could drive it anywhere, it was unstoppable! Guess what? Tata Loadbeta crew cab... The first crew cab i ever bought! There will now be a short interlude where i don't show you a Tata! My Dodge Dakota, i regretted selling this before it even left my road! I did say it would be a short interlude, but it's the last one... Tata Loadbeta V8... Yes, really, a V8!! Mini pick up with a 1275 GT engine, this went really well, but was too damn small for my luxury ass! Skoda Felicia Fun with Ronal Teddies... Oh yeah, i'm bad ass! Corrrtina P100... This was stupidly clean, i don't think it had ever been used for work. Ford Ranger, i drove this thing everywhere, even half way across Europe towing a shed, yes really! It never let me down and had more than enough power to pull anything out of anything! So, as you can see, i've had a few pick ups, and how i've not bought another one this year i'll never know. So, show me your pick up trucks, or your mates pick up truck, or just a pick up truck you saw in the internet and thought was cool, just show me some pick ups!

I know you probably don't believe that anyone would be stupid enough to tow a shed across Europe, so here it is!! In Dover... 500odd miles later in Vilseck with a puncture... One shed... Delivered! That was a laugh i can tell you!

There is surely a point when it becomes more economically viable to buy a local shed than to move it 500 miles.
Nice collection of pick-ups.

Am I the only one wondering WHY you needed to tow a shed across Europe? to be fair mate I'm surprised after reading my other madness that you're even questioning it lol. The reason was that my friend moved from the deepest darkest depths of Wales to the bottom of Germany, when I lived in Wales I was going through it a bit, renovating my house and living with a psychopath, and my mate offered me a hand with the house etc. So when he moved to Germany he asked if I could give him a hand, I said of course. I was initially going to buy a horseback, and tow that. But, one night at a family dinner I joked that I was going to just put it all in a big shed on a trailer and tow it behind my truck. He took me seriously, then lectured me about it all, and then he said, you'll never get it there, his stuff will be all over the autobahn. And with that said I knew it was the only way, so I said, really... watch me!! Apart from the picture we made it there with no dramas... Piece of cake lol. That's quite a nice looking pick up @champs, I take it that it's a cut down estate? Did you make it yourself? I quite like the look of the South African factory effort! As I'm sure you've guessed I'm liking that Tata FOAD I quite like your cut down proton too, I reckon it would look great with a set of slotmags on it.

Incidentally I stumbled across this one at a show earlier this year:- I presume this was made at home by some clever soul, and not some sort of really rare factory job?

I love pickup's, no idea why though. Had a Hilux for a bit, still wish I had room to keep it and do something interesting with it. Every time I go on holiday they are everywhere and I instantly want another lol

Yes it was cut down from a 2 door estate much nicer looking than the south african ford Bantam you pictured, lol the bantam doesn't look right imo, small doors, van 1/4 glass, van rear lamps etc

I used to have a ford ranger crew cab. Wasn't retro but loved that thing.
I seriously want another. When I do get one I want to lift it but I seem to find it troublesome to find lift kits for the ranger model. I know the ranger shares a lot with the Mazda B2500 range but once again I find little parts for them, especially when compared to Navaras and Hi-lux options.
I might have to have a look around and asks some questions on here about effective lifting methods, got to be honest and say I don't know how it's done totally.
