I have an ATS Racing knock sensor for my 1992 Rev 2 Turbo MR2.
www.atsracing.net/Parts/Details/EL-KNOCKSENSOR
It replaces the stock Toyota sensor, with a Chevrolet unit and wiring loom adaptor (supposedly 'listens' at the correct frequency etc).
The issue I can think of, is that the car originally runs a two wire KS, and the GM unit is single wire.
Some MR2's run a single wire KS, so I guess this kit was designed with them in mind...
Is it just a case of identifying the signal wire, and joining the new loom to that, and grounding the second wire, as the other end of it will be going to ground, anyway?
Or, do I strip the shielding back and join the two together, then attach the new loom?
If I have to I.D. the signal wire, anyone know which it is?
If need be, I can trace it back to pin 52 on the ECU I guess, but would prefer not to!
Thanks
