Mrs S hates all my old cars. Her definition of a car includes it having to be under 3 years old. Anything over is less a car more a "mouldering pile of curse word". I'm paraphrasing here obviously. She's never so short winded about expressing her opinions.

As far as Mrs Somersett is concerned...anything goes as long as it doesnt take up alot of my time...
Thats all of them screwed then LOL
But really, she loves the new Datsun (the 'girl sized mustang' as she calls it) shes 'ok' about the consul apart from the fact its costing me loads to keep it on axle stands :S
She was brought up on all manner of classics, customs and yanks so is game for most things! I believe she was dropped of to the hospital - birth day - in a Buick!!

;DI gots no wife, had some burds over the years, and most liked all the retro's I owned.
Getting back to the WIFE..... she hated the 1963 VW Beetle I had, and beat the living curse word out of me for playing in the dirt with my 1967 1200 Super Anglia, I did put it sideways with her in and then proceeded to do a couple of doughnuts on hard sandy dirt (so easy mistake to make)
Beetle I had was given a decent body resto and colour change over 3 weeks that we were meant to be on holiday. I spent 12 hours every day 7/7 in the garage and would take bits of trim into the house at night to polish after 8pm in front of the telly with her...... guess it was a bit much.
Anglia, I also bought, thinking I would sort it for her..... nope, she prefered the year old Toyota Conquest (hatch)
Now with the Audi, I find myself feeleing guilty before I even start tinkering..... so I spend time being bored and frustrated with the lady friend.
Can take a horse to water, but you can't drown it.

i am with my girl for 2years and one day actually, she loves the passat, and my new volvo, she didn't like a lot the 406, too common and not enough old... so i have the luck to be with a girl loving old cars, low and noisy even if they are rusty with holes in the body if it is old and not very common it is great for a ride!... the last ride with the passat was great!!!!it was so low that everyone on the street was looking at us, or perhaps it is due to the enormous hole on the exhaust! it is a reason that i love her so much!

Capris. Not just the current Mrs. v8lee either but most chicks in my experience hate Capris. Personally I luv 'em. Capris that is, not chicks. Although I do luv chicks too, just not as much as I luv Capris. I'll get me coat. Oh yeah, almost forgot - anything with a long bonnet, 'cause that "looks like a Capri"!

My better half doesn't like my current minor as I bought it with her knowledge................... serious issues at the time. She said she would never go in it EVER! We'll see when it's back on the road.

This is the one my wife hated the most, cos i was always cleaning it or moaning about bird sh1t on it. She also said i looked gay in it. After i saw a pic of me in it i had to agree and sold it! this was her favourite......i think.

Well, my wife stalked me on the internet for a year before we actually got it together - and she found me through my old website full of tatty old cars. After realising that she wasn't a bunny boiler, and was a car nut I hopped on and kept peddling, if you pardon the analogy.... My ex though (of a few ex's ago if you see what I mean - no names), .... hells teeth, if it was owned by me she hated it. If she owned it, she'd do her best to kill it (how about running a Mazda 323 from Herfordshire to Dorset with NO oil whatsoever in it - saying it sounded a little "funny"). Anything I bought, she wanted the money for. Anything I sold, she spent the cash before I could do anything with it, so I started hiding cars (and guitars) from her. But the object of more hatred than anything else was my Orange Cortina Mk3 2.0 GT - bought for 30 quid off a squaddy in 1996, and driven home, but she still turned a strange shade of purple and started throwing things at me when I got it home. When I sold it (for 120 quid) she promptly took all the money and got her hair done and bought a frankly frumpy dress with the cash before I could so much as blink. And then she wondered why I left her for another woman... a married one, at that!!!!

hated the most? there be competition on that front. in fact, lets do a little story-telling. the first gf I had after becoming mobile hated my suzy. it was REALLY loooooud, and wke all her neighbours up when I left, usually around 12pm lol. also worked with her neighbour, who hated it lolx2. the next one did not like the favorit estate. it was a skoda you see. I saw her point... (yup) oh and she was a car liking girl who I met through cars woohoo. and then the next I (perhaps mistakenly) proposed to, and spent most of last year making ONE show (YES< ONE FRICKIN SHOW) (A SMALL ONE TOO!!!!) and spending all my time and money with her. she hated the pug, the favorits, except the green one the one before hadnt liked LOL, pretty much nothing that took time away from her (so that'll be them all then) and detested collecting them, maybe unsurprising given 1) drove 100 miles to collect a 106 with insurance in place not having seen a pic 2) drove 100 miles to collect a rover, killing 2 cars and returning home 5 hours later soaked 3) buying a favorit with no mirrors and a smelly interior for £90 and driving it home with moss left intact anyhow, she got angsty, and complained too much about cars. now shes gone, I don't get whinged at, and theres not been a single girl in tango yet and it'll stay that way. it gets cossetted too much to let a *eeeew* GURL near it would also like to add this: they all liked the arosa. it was small, red and new. none of them EVER got driven it though, and they all asked 'why not drive that one? pleeeeeease?' i've kind of gone off girls writing this down. they really are b1tches, the lot of them. so, single life beckons. yay.

Thinking about it, my girlfriend isnt a car person, but she judges whatever we go out in entirely on how it behaves - Capri has never stranded us, she likes it. We go out in a 51 reg 406 HDi or something and the windows start playing up or we have some grief with the immobiliser, she doesnt like it. The same could just as easily work the other way round. Pretty straight forward way of evaluating cars, really.

one of the ex's used to complain about the chevette i had regardless of whatever i was doing with it.. i remember the same lady also spilling a large cup of coffee over some of my treasured car mags and not being bothered in the slightest...we got pulled one day ( grey primered bumperless chevette) and she was absolutely mortified .. the last ex was into motorbikes and rock music so she would quite happily step over the two ( yes , TWO ) back axles on the kitchen floor .. never complained about any of the shitey cars i had but the current mrs coggers is an absolute gem . she loves going out in the firenza , quite likes the kadett ( even more so when i told her it was hers once finished..) , happily comes to the shows , doesn't mind tripping over spanners on the kitchen floor , couldn't give a monkeys that the spare room is now full of car doors ,wheels etc . Oh and when i bought a couple of new seats off ebay i stuck them initially in the living room (just for space like..) and lo and behold i found mrs coggers the next evening sitting in one of them watching my proffesionals dvd !! Yes i know i'm one of the luckier ones....

Although I do luv chicks too, just not as much as I luv Capris. I'll get me coat. I've always found Capris and chicks to be a very popular mix.... An ex of mine would get quite pink and girly burbling around in my 2.8... My present missus, loves the idea of a Capri (yes!!) or a Chevette, Cortina, Granada, Yank muscle, Granada, or shark nose Beamer. She wants a Mk1 Escy, complete with lairy paint and hot pinto, and likes going to shows/motor racing, as long as its decent weather. Make quite a sight turning up at her work getting out of a caged Mk1 in a prim n proper business suit.... However, shes not so hot on my endless hours at my mates workshop tinkering with his stock cars. Can't have it all tho....

My wife never liked the 2cv we had as our daily driver - something to do with 'the brakes feeling like they are about to fail' and the 'funny gearstick'. Still she sat in the back for a trip halfway up England with an engine where the passenger seat should be though . 2l - yes it did lean a bit funny. Also didn't like the Minor - seatbelt choked with the Saab seats, Merc seats too high, final set of Merc seats and a lot of soundproofing later and I get almost no noise from the passenger seat now All her friends like the Minor though and her work colleagues. Her office cooler conversations go like this apparently. 'Blah blah Madmog working on the Minor gripe' Response: 'Morris Minor! My uncle/grandad/district nurse/care in the community worker used to have one of them blah cute blah what colour is it, does it have a name? So she gets kudos. I think I might get a banger Capri and nato it or just grey primer to see what happens. Video's reveal on youtube for the win...
