I bought this little beast off Ebay in July, and its proving to be a goodfun little runner. It is very rare, possibly the only one on the road in the country. The Today shares the same engine as the Honda Beat (but in a different state of tune). You only appreciate how small the car is when you see it next to another car. The bodywork isn’t great, with lots of marks, dents and scratches, but the sills, floor and arches are sound. The cozy interior is in excellent condition with hardly a mark on it. I love buzzing around in the Today, it really takes you back to basics, with such little power & no driver aids, I love it. Specification: Engine size: 656cc 3 cylinder 12 valve (E07A PGM-F1) BHP: 58hp@6300 rpm 0-60: eventually Length: 3,295 mm (129.7 in) Width: 1,395 mm (54.9 in) Curb weight: 760 kg (1,675.5 lb)

Thanks for the positive comments guys.
I don’t really know what I can do with it, Importing parts from Japan is far too expensive, and as it is such a rare car I don’t really feel the need to make it stand out, I quite like it scruffy; I’m not interested in making it go faster, as long as the oily bits keep working that’s enough for me.
The original wheels were 12x4”, offset 35, with a 4x100 pcd and a 56.1 bore with 145 70 tyres. I did a bit of research (there isn't much info out there) and now have a set of Skoda Felicia wheels 13x4.5”, offset 38, with a 4x100 pcd and a 57.1 bore they came with nearly new 165 70 tyres & a full size spare all off Ebay for £45 (the offset and width is quite crucial as there isn’t much room in there). The rolling radius has changed a bit, but the ride & handling have been transformed.
It would look great in a different colour with some orange Minilites and a bit lower though.................

Cool. Shame about it being an auto, but it's a little potter around town kei car, not a speed machine.
I can see your thoughts about leaving it nice and standard, but I'd be too tempted to drop a 660cc Turbo lump in there.

Very cool, I don't see anything wrong with doing a couple of minor, reversible mods. Seems a shame not to tbf. It is, however, utterly lovely in its current state

The chassis number works on Honda UK electronic parts catalogue, a quick check showed front discs and pads for example in Europe stock. So not all parts have to be imported from Japan.

I rather like these. Can't imagine there are many in the UK. Honda did actually build them with the full Beat engine too, with individual throttle bodies - badged MTREC. Bet one of those with a manual 'box would be a riot around town.
