I've just subscribed to PPC after a long lay off. I'm also in the middle of a 6 months for £5 Octane subscription. All that wine tasting, £50,000 watches, and adverts for £1000 leather jackets isn't really my bag but the photography is stunning.
Earlier in the week I got an email from an old work colleague. "I'm moving next weekend" he says "I've found a box in the loft with over 100 copies of CCC from the 80s & 90s. You don't want them do you? I'm just going to bin them otherwise."

I used to ( many yrs ago) subscribe to Car Builder magazine, all sorts of various kits cars and modded cars in there. Sadly only a very short run,but i've still got them in a box ...apart from the very first issue, so if anybody has one/finds one i'd like to have it! ( i re-read some of these a while ago .... Strange reading the adverts with no website address as they are before internet!)
Used to subscribe to various land rover magazines, but over time they just re-package the same stuff, i guess that comes with being a single marque magazine.
Now just buy a magazine if the front cover catches my eye.
And yes agree with above, far to many adverts nowadays ......

I am now reading copies of CCC from mid '85 to early '97. I'd forgotten just how varied and brilliant it used to be.

Nothing has come close to CCC IMO . Brilliant writing and at a age when those great cars were cheap and available . I basically learnt about cars by reading them as i youngster .
Just don't read the classified ads in the back unless you want to cry - fully tricked out mk1 mk2 escorts for 1k!!!!!
