Thanks Seth, would have loved to have been at this one. Living vicariously as usual Used to eat my lunch next to the engine of this car, in the Way's kitchen EB 1 - 4 were economy cars that we built between us, for the shell helix mileage marathon. Equipe Bigenor

If you like your cars retro (which we all do) it has to be put down as an unmissable meeting. It was like the Goodwood Festival of Speed without all the corporate bullsh1t. These events all start out like this, and then as the popularity grows, they attract big name sponsors and all the intimacy goes, as they segue into corporate juggernauts. That was one of the reasons I really wanted to get there this year. It was probably closer in atmosphere to Crystal Palace than anything else and I think that has retained its feel over the years I've been there. I think it depends what the organisers want to make out of it and if they are happy to keep it a low key event that attracts an enthusiast rather than a tourist crowd then I think they can do that. If they want to turn it into a big money spinning corporate monster I guess they can try that too but it would definitely lose some of its olde worlde appeal. rescuedude well, thank you for the efforts you and the other members of the marshalling etc teams put in. Anglia68 Always good to see other viewpoints. I thought I'd give the start line area a miss this year. Gotta save some different things to do for next time...

In my opinion the owners of the Chateau Impney wouldn't want it to get too big. They're a very well known and respected racing family in historic racing circles and are true enthusiasts. For the first event they only wanted about ten thousand spectators to keep it from getting too big. As far as I know they have no plans to make it much bigger. It can never be as big as Goodwood because the site isn't big enough and has limited access.

I went Along this weekend and I too feel that this event will get a bit bigger, but I agree that the size of the site would would limit the event from becoming something as large as Goodwood. I was there for work to decided if it's worth my company attending this year and I decided against purely because the trade area was very small and that reason should put other companies off too. So hopefully it will stay just as it is.
As for the cars, I saw and worked on my first ever C-Type last week only to see another 5 there. One may have been a Suffolk Replica, but hey who's complaining.
The house and grounds are absolutely stunning too.
