A guy I share workshop space has these, they're really well made. This is pretty tempting.

I've got a pair of Halfords tool boxes. Cost me £300+ around 20 years ago. At the time they were exactly the same as Machine Mart items, other than badge, but cheaper. They were a retirement present to myself Lasted quite well. Never had problems with draw runners despite being abused and overloaded. Only problem is starting to get surface rust but to be fair that is after such a long time in a damp garage. They get my vote.

I use these exact unit, they're that good I bought two sets.
400 deep as well so better than a lot of other units on the market.

As much as I grumble about Halfords in general, the Professional range of tools and tool boxes are great.

My whole tool collection is halfords pro. I also have the black tool chest shown in the link and I'm now thinking of buying another as mines almost full.
The only difference is I've paid fraction for all my tools than what they would of cost new. Reason being there's a guy on my local market that buys wholesale pallets of Ex halfords returns stock. I got my tool chest off him for £120 just because the top box had a dent on the side. Still brand new in its packaging it had just been damaged in transit. All the tools I've had off him are either because there's a couple of bits missing from the set or damaged packaging, easily made up from loose items he sells. I usually have stuff off him every week.

Went to get this online and can't seem to get the price to drop. Is the deal still on?

Went to get this online and can't seem to get the price to drop. Is the deal still on? It looks like the offer online has finished. I only noticed it on Tuesday and even the lad in the store was surprised it included the middle box so probably a limited period only. Overall I'm very happy with the boxes and have started filling them up but looks like I'll need to buy a few more tools

I have the top and middle box of these...again can't complain from the casual DIY'er POV. Although it's got ball bearing runners the action isn't entirely smooth, especially if the tools are heavier, but they've not let me down yet.
At £150 for the middle box and £300 for the lot it's well worth a punt IMHO

They look great for a stack! I had a machine mart stack very similar, done me for ten years in the trade. Just upgraded, needed something huge so I got a 76" mobile workstation off ebay. For 90% of the population those halfords boxes are awesome.

In case its useful: I got mine a few years ago on one of these deals. However, when I went in store they didn't have the deal on, but once I showed them the price online, they sold them at the deal price. Worth noting in case you find yourself in store with the urge

I got some when the deal was previously running. Good bit of kit for the money, saves me trawling through endless toolboxes now for that one spanner...
One thing i would say is get them delivered, as despite what the website says they are unlikely to be in stock at your local store and the three boxes come in rather large packaging... (it was a bit of a squeeze into the daily Civic...)

This is a mad good deal! The black units are very good quality. I just wish I had £350 available! I'm sure there will be a next time...

I'm very happy with the three boxes I bought and have no issues with them. For what I paid I won't even complain that they're £50 cheaper this time

This is a mad good deal! The black units are very good quality. I just wish I had £350 available! I'm sure there will be a next time... They did an offer at Christmas and it was the pair for less than £300 (the black ones). The offer was only on for 24 hours or so but I remember there was enough of a saving for me to get mad that I had bought mine a week too early!
