Hi I thought after being a long time lurker I would post up some pics of my GSE. I've owned her for 8 years now and covered just 3500 miles in that time. She's due a MOT this week then hopefully we will be doing some classic car runs over the summer as well as trips out and a bit of daily use as well. Thanks James

Cars done 83000miles and I'm the third owner if I remember rightly, there are the normal temperamental electrics, but the mechanics are spot on apart from a oil leak or two.

Edited, as JJ fixed the pics issue!
Oh, and the car looks great with the adjusted ride height - what did you do for rear springs?

I don't know to be honest I got another Monza a 3.0E with a loads of GSE bits on it and I nicked the springs off that. They are shorter than the ones I removed that's for sure! I think a Carlton GSI 3000 spring can be used.

A pic from billing back in 2007 I think You can't beat brown velour Recaros Last summer before a classic car run. Will have to get some more photos on my IPad to share.

Nice to see you on here James
Monza still looks lovely - actually better with a little tap down
Front could do with a smidge more IMO but the rear is spot on any lower and the geometry at the back gets nasty

Cheers Ian, I think the front springs I need are on the brown car and I must get them changed. The car is holding on well TBH with no noticeable rust after 8 years since the repaint. MOT this week then hopefully the SCCON and KLDMC classic car runs later in the month early July.
One Question Ian, is it common for the odometer to strip the teeth off the gear wheel between the trip and mileage counters?

Good to see it getting some use and nice to hear you have a plan to drop the front One Question Ian, is it common for the odometer to strip the teeth off the gear wheel between the trip and mileage counters? I've never seen one do that - I'm guessing to do that the ODO has jammed or the trip has - can't remember which drives what - I think I've a couple of units still floating around if you are after bits to fix the one you have - I tend to fit analogue dials because the digitals drive me nuts - to much flashing in the edge of my vision I find distracting but I've always had that issue ;-)

The car looks fantastic. I would have left it at its original ride height but it looks great nonetheless.
Just yesterday I was talking to my old man and we wondered where all the Mantas, Monzas, Cavaliers and Carltons have all gone. Not to mention the Senators! And the Rover SD1s and 800s, come to that.

Cheers Ian maybe I could come over and pick one up sometime, the day of the lift if you like and I can lend a hand. ? I have used the gear out of the brown car for now, not sure if it will need a factory dash for its fate?

I think tin worm has eaten most of them!! I looked and looked for a manta ...... Gave up in the end and got the Monza and TBH it was a good choice as it is loaded with modern toys....some even work!

The oil leaks stop the sump rusting thro and help keep the tinworm away from underneath
Number plate light, the holders disolve inside the rubber, not that long ago I managed to buy two new ones from Opel, chuff knows where they are?

The lamp had fallen apart lol. Fixed there and then so left with a ticket so all good. The lamp holders are a bit ropy though and will need attention soon. Hopefully it will get a good cleanup this weekend including under the bonnet which is grubby at best.

land rover rules apply, if it stops dripping you know there's no oil in the engine
