I went along to North Weald today for a 'test and tune' day. Haven't been there for many years and its not the sort of event I pick out these days really. But there was an ulterior motive. Firstly here's some photos of cars.
This mid engined, twin turbo V6 powered Caddy was quite a piece of work.
This Mini was mega speedy, and I was very pleasantly surprised to find an A series under the bonnet rather than the more modern transplant I was expecting to see.
Victor estate was all kinds of awesome.
Best bike that caught my eye was this. No idea what it is powered by but it looks like a genuine piece of ancient British drag machinery.
And here be that ulterior motive, my friend's mechanically injected, methanol burning, Chevy powered slingshot.
Its taken a whole heap of work over the last few years with quite a few days of disappointment but today was a good day. A couple of runs including one quick burnout. Nothing particularly fast because it is still all a learning experience but lots of good noise and smoke and smells.
