A grand day out in Coventry in the drizzle. Who'd have thought it?
A good variety of cars parked in the central pedestrianised square
The Dolomite club had a great array of cars in the shopping precinct.
We popped in to the museum having not been for nearly 10 years I reckon and it was still oddly all a bit haphazard, though with a new Jaguar exhibit.
Nicer to be able to see the Thrust cars in better light though.
including a full scale mock up of Bloodhound in plastic connex thingies.
Of the action we caught a good dose of the stock cars, who were finding it a bit tough to make it round the corners within the width of the anticlockwise carriageway of the ring road.
Caught my friend coming through to get to the start for the later sprints.
And then there was a whole heap of drifting.
But the best thing that really made my day was watching and hearing the Rover BRM turbine Le Mans car being fired up right below us and then seeing it running at reasonable speed along the ring road. Totally awesome.
Didn't get to watch any other action as there was just too much to fit in to the day but other interesting things dotted about.
Definitely in the list to do again next year as I reckon it will be different and better once again. Top marks to all the organisers etc.
