In the Ben Stiller movie "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" is among other involved a rather sad-looking old coach. The scene with the coach, among many others in the film are shot in Iceland. The coach has a name, her name is “Soffía II” and she was built in Iceland around 1960, undercarriage is a Bedford 4x4 with Mercedes Benz engine, the body build by 2 Icelandic coachbuilders in a garage in the countryside in Iceland. In the summers Soffía transported tourists over the highlands of Iceland and during winter school children to school.
Shortly after the shooting of the film finished the family of one of the man who originally built “Soffía” together with friends started the restoration of Soffía, the work took almost two years and was finished in April 2015 and here you can see the result.
