OK so this is about six months too late, but just thought i would share some photos from today after it passed its test. I got this off a retrorider in about november and it was laid up for three months whilst i worked away. It was a bit of an adventure really as the guy brought it up from Bristol, so at least i knew it wasnt a total lemon.
The history file was bulging and it was owned by the guys grandad in France - according to the business card in the file an ex RAF pilot - a testament of which was that the old immobiliser code was 1925 - his date of birth! Got some grief for that off the wife.
Turns out spilt hydrosuspension oil in the boot, plus spring in a garage equals mould everywhere.. after a bloody good clean out, steam, scrub, paint and tidy up this is how it sits now. No real plans, i think the car is going to my brother soon but wanted to share another rescue success story - the other owner thought i was going to scrap it!
A notched lowering lever (ex-BX16v mod), active suspension domes, new rear light, shortened bump stops (stops it from battering about when running on half-lowered), service, paint touchups and here it stands..
