Does anyone know much about registering imports? DVLA form says you a need certificate of conformity? Over what age is that relevant? Any ideas? The bike to register is KLR 650 imported from Canada. Any advice or pointers appreciated.

You should not need a certificate of conformity if your KLR is over 10 years old but the DVLA will still need some proof of age, Kawasaki should be able to provide this.

Sometimes the dealer will do you a letter confirming that "according to the parts system the date of manufacture is blah blah" and you can send that off to the DVLA. Might be quicker than dealing with the UK importer.
As with other DVLA things, you might get lucky and they'll accept it or they might write back saying they want something else. A phone call first is a good idea for something less common like this.
