Ive been doing much looking around't web for insipiration and ideas for my W126. Plans are currently being formulated and, dear God, if I can get it looking like the car below I shall be running about like a dog with two d***s. Well,I like it!
Ive also found a site that is quite brilliant and pays homage to the bespoke modifications of cars by some of those companies out there that made the likes of Wood and Pickett look too staid and boring.... More to follow.

A slightly beefed-up, bespoke W126 Mercedes is a thing of 1980's excessive beauty...!!!

Amazingly these were never even on my radar, the purchase "just happened" which is a story told by many a petrol head, I suppose. Ive set my heart on some Pentas, plenty about but are in such diverse places as Latvia and Glasgow. Bit far for me to go for them plus most of the UK based sellers don't want to send them by carrier pigeon. Patience....

If I ever had a barge it would have to be a W126 - that black one is near to perfection for me.
For my sins I used to be (some 25 years ago now), the parts manager of a MB dealership and these things were new then (the W124 arrived about a year before I left), being parts I never got a company car but used to borrow the odd demonstrator at weekends, but only if I could get a W126.
My late father-in-law used to own a beautiful metallic bronze W126 280SE (officially colour was Bison Braun - delightful name!). When he bought a W124 300TE, he offered me the 280SE at a silly price - I'm still kicking myself for passing it up!
