Some of you may have read my thread in The Question Section.
I have been trying to source a more reasonably priced product with the same properties as Raychem DR-25 Heat Shrink. After some time on the Internet I managed to find 5 alternatives. However, to purchase said items I would be required to order more than enough to wire a whole plane! Needless to say, not very cost effective.

Credit to RB Racing for the pictures.
Anyhow, this leads me to my second option;
I have found a distributor that can supply DR-25 in reasonably short lengths at a relatively competitive price. By "reasonably" I mean "longer than I require" and by "relatively" I mean "Holy moly, how much for heat shrink?!".
It is my intention to gauge if anyone would want to purchase the surplus stock that i will end up with. I would be happy to sell by the meter and it would be purely at cost price plus postage.
For anyone not familiar with DR-25, it is an elastomer Heat Shrink used within the Military, Motorsport and Aviation industry. It has a shrink ratio of 2:1, is petrol and diesel resistant, flame retardant, flexible (unlike standard Heat Shrink) and looks really pretty*.
Raychem DR-25 Datasheet
Here is a link to an example loom.
The sizes available are listed below and are priced by the meter:
3.2mm - £3.95
4.8mm - £4.35
6.4mm - £4.95
9.5mm - £5.55
12.7mm - £6.55
19mm - £11.05
25.4mm - £14.95
I haven't yet purchased the heat shrink, I am merely gauging if it would be a viable option for me to get the larger quantities and sell on the surplus.
If anyone has any questions, fell free to contact me via PM or reply to this thread.
Furthermore, I shall shortly be able to print the heat shrink labels as well. Either Yellow or White in 6mm, 9mm, 12mm, 19,mm & 24mm.
Thanks for reading,
Regards,
Ben
