I thought train spotters were bad enough but truck spotters are a proper pain. I travel to and from work from Glasgow to Essex using the M6 or the A1 and i'm seeing more and more truck spotters Not only do they hang about motorway overpasses with a big camera (which looks like a police speed trap to the untrained eye) they also park their cars on them as well. Ive seen quite a few people now braking hard thinking its a speed trap so its only a matter of time before somebody has an accident. I'm going a bit Clarkson now but when i come to power these anoraks will be locked up

I've seen groups of them in the bushes trying to photograph the trucks through the chain link fencing at our local Stobarts depot (Dirft). Real weird bunch.
A mate of mine has just sold his old Stobarts uniform for best part of £100 !!!

My neighbour laughs at me tinkering and buying cars, over the last ten years we've had loads of banter, he goes fishing every weekend, now what's that all about?? But I tinker with cars,,,the world would be boring if we all had the same interests!..... But train spotting, lorry spotting, and stamp collecting ain't for me!

I like old trucks, and can understand someone taking an opportunistic photo of an old classic lorry if they see one on the road. But taking photos of eddie stobarts modern fleet? I'm struggling with that one.

If people are braking hard to avoid the 'speed camera' and the following car is so close that it could cause an accident is this really the fault of the person on the bridge or the fault of the person who is driving too fast and the car behind driving too close?

mattnlisa - fair point, I suppose it's creating an archive for future generations of Retro-Riders. I suppose we all get a little bit excited when seeing old street scene photographs and start playing spot the make & model.
