Hello all, Been a long time reader on here so since Ive just got a new project I thought I would attempt a thread! A little history the car was found on ebay and had apparentley been restored early 2000s and had a club winning trophy with it for besy Royale. Went and had a look and one thing lead to another... Got her running over the last weekend, drained out the old fuel, blew out the lines, cleaned the pump. Changed the spark plugs and she burst into life and sounded brilliant, Only set back being the head gasket is chucking out some oil so got a new one on its way after some searching. There is so much history its unbelievable, a whole carrier bag full of resto shots including an engine rebuild and new gearbox plus a full GM workshop manual. So plan is to sort out the head, fix an autobox leak, new tyres and MOT then if i love it it will be my main car and replace the RX8. Hope you all like! And hope i did the picture links properly....

Cracking buy Peter.
It could only be better if it was a saloon.
Be prepared for truly horrendous fuel consumption.

And not a 3 speed auto either, my old 78 monza 4 speed manual really struggled to better 25 mpg on a run due to the daft low gearing

Great find Pete, You'll have to bring it along to the VBOA show at Billing Aqua Drome this year, Royales are few and far between even at this event, Get yourself over to the Autobahnstormers field and say hello. Looking forward to some updates.

Update! One side sill repairs all done Just painted up ready to be shulzed All the elextrics are done which involved replacing various relays, taking apart the whole column top to replace the wiper cum indicator stalk as that had snapped off at the base inside the switch. The horn was fUbared so ended up replacing the wiring to that as that was just unfathomable so just refed a new relay with the existing horn switches. changed the head gasket aswell so runs beautifully now. Two more spots of welding and were off to the mot man i think! one question for you helpfull people, i have an auto box leak and after cleabing it all down it seems to be coming from a small cylindrical object that pops out the back of the box to one side and below the output to the rear axle, it has a small bore solid pipe coming from it and looping over the top of the box aswell. I will get a picture when i next get out there! Thanks for reading ☺

Hey all been a long time, Right all welding done ended up having to build a new sill on the drivers side, brake fluid done rear brakes rebuilt and all going well but having a running issue i need some help with. She starts fine hot or cold, runs ok on cold start but once hot idles like curse word, once you pull away or rev it sounds fine and pulls very very well. Ive checked fuel, got a good spark when cold havent checked hot, taken the carb off taken it apart and changed the two diapharms and cleaned it all out, checked all the choke gaps according to the manual and all spot on. Any ideas? The mixtures screws on these carbs are meant to be factory set so i havent played with those.
