HOLY COW!
That avenger wagon has got me hunched over the screen, furiously attempting to self-ooof myself.

Good God man.....I have a six-man ridge tent in my pants, and multiple bruises on my legs from repeatedly kicking myself for not going! THAT is my Car Of The Year.

^^^Indeed it is an HA van.....brilliant to see it still around too, it was built by John Baldacchino back in 1980. Can't remember for the life of me what's under the bonnet though. Here's a pic of it from 27 years ago taken from www.timetraveldvds.co.uk

In the past have found that once the worst of the hangovers had subsided we generally buggered off home.

It's the famous Baldy van...
John Baldachino was a big name in the 70s/80s custom car scane, along with his pal Richard Whale they built some top quality cars that took the then-popular indoor show circuit by storm.
R-R legend Nightmares was custodian to the Baldy van for a while.

That's them....didn't Richard Whale build that bonkers V8-powered Herald?? Wonder where that is now..... Richard Whale's Herald wasn't a V8, but was still insane...clinically spotless, Triumph straight six power and flip bodied. To my knowledge Richard broke the car himself and sold it in pieces. Certainly the doors and windows ended up in 'Quarter Pounder' built by John Mulligan in the 80s and heavily reworked by Alex Dutton before I bought it a few years ago: I sold it to a dealer in Europe (via ebay) where it's still for sale today. While I owned it, John - the original builder - sent me some build up shots. Originally it was built as a thrown-together job while he was building something else. The fact that it's still around today is a testament to it's original builder and Alex, who spent a lot of time, effort and money making it a more finished car. In the first shot, it's the one on the trailer!
