I`ve just got hold of a coscast c20xe vauxhall cylinder head cheap. Cheap because its had afew skims so I'm worried it`ll up the cr ratio too much. Are thicker headgaskets available from motor factors? Or is it a alloy/copper plate jobbie from the likes of farridays?

there usually is at least one oversize gasket available, any idea how much exactly was removed?
QED list a stock Elring gasket but not thickness listed, and a bladdy expensive cometic at 51 and 70 thou (1.29 and 1.778mm)

Hi Welshpug. I'm not sure yet how much has been taken off. Got a standard one in the workshop that has never been skimmed so will dig that out and measure up tomorrow.
I`ll pop in to my local motor factors tomorrow and see whats available off the shelf.
