That looks really very smart indeed...
I can see these cars gaining a following so now is the time to nab the rarer ones I reckon...
I look forward to seeing you bring this one right up to scratch!

What's great to hear is the positive feedback for this Primera so far. They've been unfairly derided over the years as nothing more than a 'scabby old taxi', but these GT's have a following who know just how good they are.
I'm chuffed to have one of the 100 GTLE saloons that were made. That's a level of rarity hard to match.

I'm sure you can cope with bringing that little lot back up to scratch...!
I forgot to ask right at the start what the difference is between the GTLE and GTSE models...?!

I'm sure you can cope with bringing that little lot back up to scratch...! I forgot to ask right at the start what the difference is between the GTLE and GTSE models...?! The GTSE's were first, in 1998, to celebrate the BTCC championship winning Primeras of that year. They are best known for their flip 'Mystic' paint. All 400 of them (300 hatchbacks and 100 saloons) were painted in the flip paint. They had similar full leather interiors to the one in my GTLE, but the piping was green, not silver/grey, rear wipers on the saloons as well as hatch's, and originally had 16" Azev alloys. The pic below obviously isn't running the orignal Azev's. The GTLE's were made in 1999, again to celebate that years BTCC win. They came in 4 colours (red, black, silver and Nordic Blue), with the full leathers (silver/grey piping), 16" Enkei alloys, rear wipers on the saloons, and a Momo gear knob. Again, there was 400 made, of which 300 were hatchbacks, and 100 saloons, so as there were four colours, I guess mine is one of only about 25 Nordic saloon GTLE's made. Both GTSE's and GTLE's were exactly the same mechanically to the standard GT.

^^ Thanks a million for the info'...
I remember the earlier ones (with the flip paint) but I wasn't aware of the later ones...
Nissan nailed it with the BTCC at that time and it really was a joy to watch them battling with the Mondeo's, 406's and T5 estates...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your car is a real gem sir... Superb!

Nissan nailed it with the BTCC at that time and it really was a joy to watch them battling with the Mondeo's, 406's and T5 estates...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your car is a real gem sir... Superb! Thanks Treated it to a service today. Oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, pollen filter, plugs, new HT leads, put a new battery on, and got under and made a start on the tidying up, starting with the front crossmember/rad support. This was the pollen filter. Do you reckon it's been changed at any point in the last 16 years (bear in mind it's white when new!)?..... I'll probably fit this Alpine head unit at the weekend.... I upgraded the standard headlight bulbs to the Osram Nightbreaker Plus Unlimited today as well. Another small thing today. I swapped out the orange front repeater bulbs for chromed ones. I hate the fried egg look, and it's something small, but makes it look just that tiny bit smarter at the front I have the original Momo gear knob still present..... but it seems to have lost it's middle sticker... I'm trying to find out if it was a 'Momo' sticker, or a gear gate diagram. When I find out, I'll get it replaced. One more thing to do. An SS Autochrome manifold to fit. Will help the engine breathe better... Wheels booked in for a full refurb on 28th February, and while they are off, I'll probably (if funds allow) replace the budget rubber on there for some decent tyres. Lots to do, but I haven't forgotten the underside work. The plan is to start that when the warmer weather, and longer days kick in.

Nice to see its been restored as well as subtly modified! Thanks. This one is all about keeping the factory basics like the wheels, amber rears and sides etc, but doing little subtle improvements over OEM externally, like the chromed repeater bulbs and aero wiper blades. The stainless manifold will help it breathe better under the bonnet too, as will the centre and rear sections when I get round to getting that sorted. If I didn't like the OEM Enkei wheels, I must admit it would be a struggle to keep it standard, but I'm lucky that I do like them a lot, so they are definately staying on. Wheels are booked in for a full strip, refurb and paint on Feb 28th, which should be another healthy stride forward. Hopefully, by the end of March I'll have collected the replacement wings, had them painted and sorted the welding to the sills. The rest of the underside will be as and when I get a chance.

I found some rubber matting in the bin at work, so brought it home... cut a bit of it to size, and hey presto, the cubby hole mat is replaced... In their wisdom (otherwise known as watching the pennies), they only fitted one fog light to these P11's. However, the bulb holders and wiring was there for two, so it makes sense to get them both up and running. There is a plastic cover on the nearside, which stops the plug from popping through, so this needs to be cut through.... ....in goes the bulb, job done... Wheels were refurbed on Saturday. All four of them were in a really bad way, kerned, scraped, pitted, lacquer peel etc, like this one.... but they now all look this good... Much better. Jobs done: Initial clean, clay bar and polish - done Grille mesh painted - done B Pillars de-vinyled - done Engine bay cleaned - done Strut brace painted - done New number plates - fitted Wiper blades replaced with aeros - done Boot shuts cleaned - done 26/12/14 Fuel Filler flap cleaned - done 26/12/14 Full service (oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, pollen filter, spark plugs, HT leads, new battery) - 29/01/15 Head unit changed - Alpine HU fitted 31/01/15 Headlight bulbs replaced with Nightbreaker Unlimiteds - done 31/01/15 Front repeater bulbs swapped out for chromed - done 31/01/15 Ebay/SS Autochrome manifold fitted - done 05/02/15 Sticker missing on top of gear knob - replaced 07/02/15 Rubber mat to be found for cubby hole - home made one sorted 20/02/15 Twin rear fog mod to be done - done 22/02/15 Wheels refurbished - done 28/02/15 Still to do: Front wings to be replaced and painted, sills and rear arches welded/repaired - booked into body shop for 29/04/15 Wiper spindles need replacing Lots of work to do underneath - waiting for warmer weather and some spare time. Front fog lights to look at as not working - changed 15A fuse under bonnet 31/01/15 - still not working, still to fix. Drivers seat to be repaired/retrimmed Full stainless exhaust system to be fitted Possibly fit coilovers to the front to equal out the arch gap front and rear - not to make it look low or slammed you understand, just better. Budget tyres to be replaced by better ones.
