Wow, that went with a pop.
Never having been to a dyno, are the electrical brakes normally bigger than that? Coming from an industrial background it doesn't look very big even with forced cooling.

I think that was actually a decent set up, even for a mobile system.
The fact that the car didn't budge and was well tied down when it went wrong kept this from turning into a bloodbath.
What was the red box that failed?
The gearbox (or whatever) for the roller shafts?

so what happened was the car too powerful for the dyno? Who knows, It does look rather more like mechanical failure of the rollers, a lucky escape for many people, especially with those rollers ejecting themselves from the rear... |

Looking at the way some the people were starting to move in the various different shots, I think there must have been a bit of clue what was coming near the end bang. At 1.18 the guy in the background points to something and starts to move, then bang!

Ouch, dynos can be scary things when it all goes wrong.
Once lit up the tyres on a in-ground dyno due to being a little over enthusiastic with the throttle on something with a silly torque V8. Needless to say the fore/aft straps don't work too well when you go sideways!
Strangest feeling realising you're trying to opposite lock whilst sat inside a room....
