ok Ive lost interest in this and cars in general cant see me finishing it and i want the garage back.
i owned and drove the car for about 2 years before deciding to change the engine. - it was a 1.8 m10 engine before.
Body work it decent, few rust scabs, hole in bottom of one wing. One dint above rear arch that would pull out easy, one rear corner has has dint and repaired poorly (easy sad and filler fix) - still looks the part tho. Has had one welding patch in the past over a jacking point - desnt need any more.
So its a manual(original) with a 2.8 m52 engine fitted. the engine is in and runs. powersteering plummed in and coolant - moves under its own power. Last time i started it up the clucth was making a slight rattle at idle i think the slave needs bleeding again - as clutch kit was brand new.
but it needs finishing - brakes sorting, id suggest new fuel and brake pipes - prop have been extended on the joint so may need to be changed. exhaust is a hash up and is way too low. Needs collecting on a trailor and wont be that easy at its super low at the moment and my drive is steep.
positives - engine is mint
proper sump kit thats needed is on - these make £200
m50 inlet - these sell for £100+
brand new sachs clutch kit £130
chrome bumpers are decent.
Has home made front coilies - look abit poor so id suggest replacing(i have a pair of good front struts that come with the car)
So in summery good project £800 - before strip it but don't ask about parts been forsale yet.
this is how it usd to look.
