This has been the daily transport of my better half for the past 6 months, and we have both loved every minute of ownership. It`s been nothing short of faultless, and is a superb drive with none of the usual suspension knocks associated with X308 Jaguars.
It has an MOT until March 2015, with no advisory notes issued with the last one. It`s covered 3000 miles since the last test, all of which we have done. It should fly through another without any issues. If you`re quick, it is taxed for a couple more days.
It`s got a very good service history, with 10 entries in the service book and receipts until 2009. The previous owner bought it in 2010, and has been self serviced by his son, who owns a garage since, although no paperwork is present to support this. The oil is clean, and it`s clearly been serviced and looked after throughout all of it`s life. The previous owner was a mature gent, who only sold it due to buying an x350 XJR upon retirement. It has the all important cam chain/tensioner/guides replaced in 2007 at 60k, and has a good few bills in excess of £1000 each. It also has 4 Pirelli tyres, although the two rear tyres will be getting ready for replacement sometime in the not so distant future. Being an early 2000 car there is no issues with Nikasil here either.
The drive is superb. The gearbox shifts exactly as it should, the engine starts, runs, sounds and performs with no issues whatsoever. These are such a smooth car to drive, with 370bhp under your right foot when need and 0-60 sprint in 5.1 seconds. they`re great to waft around in, but a different animal when the sport button is on and your right foot gains weight. It also has fully working rear parking sensors, and the private plate comes with the car as it means nothing to me at all.
The bodywork is great, with just the few age associated marks you would expect. These consist of a `a small patch of surface rust on the N/S rear wheel arch about the size of 2 50p pieces, a couple of minor bumper scuffs and a couple of patches of lacquer peel on the bonnet. A smart repair guy could sort most of these out for a minimal cost, if you`re even bothered about them. Mine would do the minor bumper scuffs and the rust for £100. All these items are shown in the pictures. The alloys are all in great shape. The underside is 100% rust/rot free.
The interior is in cream leather, and is also in very good shape. No undue wear and tear, no rips, no scuffs and no burns of any sort. All electrics work including the CD changer and the A/C just about blows some cold/cool air. If you`re fussed about it being ice cold though, a re-gas would be beneficial. Cruise control, electric seats, electric windows, electric aerial etc all work perfectly.
Both keys and the full book pack are available, along with all old MOT certificates and V5 in my name.
So, any bad points, or anything no working? Apart from the above mentioned the remote central locking can sometimes be temperamental. 85% of the time it works fine, then sometimes it will decide not to work, in which case we just use the key in the lock. The boot will only open from the button on the dashboard or the key fob. These have never bothered us, so have been left as they are. A couple of the locking wheel nut caps are missing too....
As mentioned before, this is our own car, and not a stock car. £2200 is what I paid for it, so £2200 is what I want for it. Sorry to sound harsh, but it`s a cheap car at this price, and I will just keep it and drive it should it not sell for this figure. I`m not desperate to sell in any way.
Viewings, test drives etc welcome but please no timewasters.
I`ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking. If you need any other pictures of any specific area, please let me know.
