I'm selling my Metro GTi project due to no chance of getting the time to do anything with it any time soon.
I've owned the car for two years now and planned to turn it into a hillclimb/trackday car.
Only one previous owner so I believe who lived in North Wales and used the car locally for many years, so it never saw a motorway and has covered not much more than 50,000 miles from new. Original owner sold the car at the age of 85 in favour of a moped!
Runs and drives great, I regularly exercise it on the large private industrial estate where my workshop is and the engine is so, so lively and responsive.
Will require some welding to pass an MOT, but it's not too bad at all underneath really and anyone who is handy with a welder could have it done in no time.
The exterior bodywork is actually very, very good all things considered and other than the tiniest of blemishes on the front wing the only rust is on the roof skin (was parked under conifers for two years before I got it) and the the end of the front slam panel is rotten (I have a new one to go with the car).
The interior is original and in excellent shape.
New Bosch battery was fitted before I got the car and I have a full service kit to go with it as well.
Totally original stereo etc.
I also have other spares which are negotiable, such as AVO shocks and rear MGF cans from a low mileage car.
I'm looking for £800 and am based in Shropshire, but can deliver anywhere for a reasonable cost.
