For sale a one off Morris Minor sedan delivery/panel van that I have built over the past few years. I don’t really want to sell this as I only properly finished the car a few months ago but life has changed and I need to reduce the number of cars I have (5 at the moment) as I will be limited with the amount of time I will have to spend on them.
The van started life as a normal minor traveller but has under gone a lot of changes. The van now has a split windscreen, early fifties dash board and the biggest change a one off, all steel rear van body. The body is entirely rust free and is finished in old English white with Ed Roth ruined retina red metal flake roof as well as some custom pin striping. All panels are rust free; all the wings are new as is the chrome work.
The running gear now comprises of a 2 litre fiat twin cam engine in the smoothed out and striped engine bay. This is backed up with the fiat 5 speed gearbox running through a custom prop shaft to a marina 1800 axle (3.63 ratio). The van has new telescopic shocks all round and new disc brakes up front. There are too many new components on the van to list.
The interior has the same red metal flake that is on the roof, on the early series 2 dash board, a refurbished three spoke banjo wheel and reupholstered MX5 seats with matching door cards, kick panels and rear trim panels. Front and rear head liners are new. The rear load area has been finished in chequered vinyl with useful storage compartments below the floor. The carpets are new custom made with leather bound edges. There also a new Pop Browns wiring loom installed with fuse box and relays easily accessible behind the removable centre dash panel.
The van rolls on 15” Porsche Replica fuch wheels which are full polished to a chrome like finish and wrapped in 165/65x15 tyres all round. These are quite an unusual addition to a Morris Minor and a wheel that I have not ever seen used on one and I’ve been modifying Minors for over 20 years now.
This is a nice finished little van that has had a lot of attention to detail and will happily drive anywhere. The van has been shown a couple of times locally here in Scotland but has not so far been to any of the bigger events so you could be the first to show this unique van off and you can be sure that nobody else is going to turn up in another one like it.
The van is located in Paisley just outside of Glasgow and is just a few minutes from Glasgow airport. I can also arrange delivery to the new owner anywhere in the UK.
I am looking for £6500 for the van; I dread to think how much money I’ve got in it not to mention how many hundreds if not thousands of hours work.
Thanks for taking time to read this and if anyone has questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
