This has to be one of the sleepiest sleepers ever *: smoty.streetmachine.com.au/03-datsun-120y.htmlIt's up for Street Machine's Car of the Year award: smoty.streetmachine.com.au/ , which also includes this: At first glance, it appears to be a neat ratty single cab...and then you notice the wheelie bars. Even then, you're still not expecting this... ...or this: *Oooff* *that little Mazda from a few years ago, might be a contender for the trophy

Fantastic! That Datsun is almost making me regret giving up my Street Machine subscription at the start of this year. I spend so much time on Retro Rides, I never got around to the January issue, so I let it go after 12 years of subscribing.

Great stuff. Somehow you can always tell an Australian built car, they just have a certain "Aussieness" (new word) whatever the base car or build style. It's a shame their magazines aren't easy to get over here. I know someone who imports a lot of American mags (hello Graham) but he says the costs of shipping relatively low value items like magazines from Oz don't make economic sense. Just have to make do with online stuff instead.
