Met up with an old family friend at the weekend-hadn't seen him for 12 years as he moved to NZ. He's the reason I got into Toyota's in the first place etc. Anyway, he brought some old photos with me that I hadn't seen before including this one Showing a slightly broken works Supra rally car on its way back to be brought back to life sat outside where I lived I'm the little boy stood by the trailer-I'm guessing it was taken in 86? I found it interesting & shows the beginnings of why I'm into Toyota's more than anything else. Has anyone else got a history behind their favoured brand of car?

My dad used to be a Ford guy... International red tractor paint, sawn-down full-size bumpers, square plate, warmed-over crossflow and a tartan rug on the parcel shelf. That's circa '86/7, I think... Based on nothing more than the fact that I look around two or three years old. This car must have burned into my brain somehow as - whilst I'm not *that* into Fords - mk2 Escorts look best like this to me; no big arches, lairy colours or massive wheels. Obligatory Beaulieu photo: *n

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

Have shared this so many times, it's one of my favourite pics. June 1967, Trecco Bay near Porthcawl. That's me aged 2 1/2 sat on the bonnet of 22 year-old Daddy Damaged's '58 Zephyr 6. He's celebrating his 70th Birthday this coming weekend and I'll be hitting the Big Five-Zero in three months' time. Both of us still dicking about with cars in some form, him with his MGs/Bedfords, me with rallying.

My grandad has had quite a few cars in his time, campers, Morriss`, Zephyrs, 7 seater Volvos etc, but particularly Sierras. I may post some pics later.. He was always selling one car and buying another, he'd drop my nan off at work in one and pick her up in another that he'd bought. Lol! So I do have a liking for these Sierra estates but they're quite hard to find these days, unfortunately this one doesn't exist anymore I don't think. Also, anyone know what these wheels are?

This is my old dads ride, Back in I guess 1982, He passed on the liking for all cars, he had so many cars from Zodiacs to Capri's, to Humbers, Jowett Javelins, Austin Westminster's . My mother did say he bought a Bentley when they were dating, which one she hasnt a clue, and when they started dating he had a BSA 3 wheeler and a Austin 7 Sadly he passed away when I was 16 last car he had was a Ford Granada L - ROK 77R - In silver, learnt me to drive in that car. On Safeway's car park of a Sunday. I was 14 then, be '84 Odd how you remember stuff like that
