My local VW club, The Paintscapers have a monthly meet in Bexleyheath at Danson Stables. This month, the Prept meet was lacking it's usual Brands Hatch venue and so decided a twin meet might be a nice solution. The result? A lot more cars than usual (thankfully Danson Park has an overflow car park) and two distinct flavours.
I should also (as usual) start with an apology. If you think some of the pictures have been cropped and/or tweaked in an effort to hide poor photography under the guise of artyness, you'd be right. My camera and I don't get on at all - it takes the fun out of taking photos and makes me much less interested in taking snaps these days. Could I be bothered to take the tripod out of the car? No. Was I going to spend all night adjusting the settings on my camera rather than chatting to mates? No. Let's get on with it then!
We'll start with my car of the night. Black steels and whitewalls do it for me. Expect to see this appear in the black steels thread imminently.
That's The Stables in the background. The building was abondoned/unused while I was a little'un, now it's a nice pub in a park. The Painscrapers have a great family vibe which suits the place well. The relatively small car park meant that the majority of the Prept visitors went over the path to the overflow car park, where I ventured later...
This 190E was scraping in as I arrived. It showed no sign of any on board suspension adjustment. If my observations are correct, that's a pretty hardcore ride.
I've seen this posted on Fast Car's Facebook page and attract all sorts of hate. If you read Street Machine and/or Volksworld in the 90s though, you have to like this car. Mint me up, baby!...
