Went out to check a few things, and spotted this parked on the road outside my house ;D 1964 mk1 mini, the owner said her sister bought it new in 1964, and then she bought it in 1970. So 2 owners from new, completely original morris mini. Absolutely stunning car Also spotted recently: MK2 escort? Very nice, a bit tatty but I really liked it. Merc estate Bay van. That's all, I just wanted to post pics of the mini really

A real retro Mini! No i actually really like the really old ones, but the only ones i have ever been in have been from 70's and 80's well spotted.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

That mini is very nice, hard to find these days when they're that old and in good condition, and to think the roads were littered with them once.

It's driven off now, but out of interest, how do you tell if it has a mk2 shell?

it looks like its got a Mk2 shell Why do you say that? It's got the right lights and everything. I know the rear screen looks a little wide for a MK1, but it could just the angle the picture was taken at

The height of the screen as well. Although, the Mk2 didn't come out till '67 IIRC.
Top mini whatever Mk. it is ;D

Like I said, it does look big. Either way, a re-shell is better than a dead mini

i still thinks its the orginal shell, as daveyboy said it would have mk2 lights not the uber cool mk1 items.

no the early MK2 had MK1 lights and you can buy conversion to change to MK1 No, they didn't. The australian MK2 had MK1 lights, but not the uk model. Some people actually changed MK1's and put MK2 lights on in an attempt to make them look newer, but that's kind of irrelevent. However, you are correct in saying about the conversion plates to change to MK1's. Could be a re-shell in to a MK2, don't really think it matters too much, just nice to see it's still going
