Not the best title i know, as this is not really about the car i have for sale, Anyhoo, having lost my storage facility with about a months notce i am currently in the process of having a culling in my car collection. Ideally i'd like to sell maybe ten of my fifteen current cars! So i decided to start with my Beetle, it's pretty nice, and an original Karmann convertible, so i've put it near the road, and put a for sale sign in the window, with a price, and a phone number! Two, or my three Volvos (they are two really nice Volvo 240's that are for sale) which are parked up behind the beetle, behind the flats where i live. Today i get this private number phone call from a fella asking about the Beetle, and if i knew who owns the Volvos. So i told him they were all mine. So, he then started to ask more questions about the Volvos, and if they were for sale, and when would be a good time to meet to have a chat about them. As i work for myself, and as luck would have it was working just around the corner, i said that we could have a chat now if he liked, as i was just around the corner, and could be home in a couple of minutes. He said that would be great, so i jumped in my van, and headed home. When i got home, there was no one to be found. I sort of stood around by my Beetle like Billy-no-mates looking up and down the street to see if anyone was sitting in their cars waiting for me, but no one was. Then my nieghbour came out, and asked why i was stood in the street, who was i waiting for, so i told her, and asked her if she'd seen anyone. She said that there was a couple of fellas looking at the cars who drove off just before i pulled up in a low loader.
Now the question is, should i be:-
A) Concerned for the welfare of my cars. or B) Very concerned about the welfare of my cars.
Of course she didn't get the numberplate of the low loader, and i didn't get the phone number as it was a private number!
What should i do, any ideas, thought's or suggestions?

Even if they meant no harm, you're going to stay awake at night worrying about them, so maybe move them?

Can you block them in with something that would be harder/noisier to move. Just for some peace of mind

Move em mate gypos use it as a ploy. Ring up and ask bout cars if you say you in all day they FCUK off and if you say I be home from work after so and so it's bye bye cars. Usually to be weighed in. Advertise privately and leave them tucked away. OR Set them up and you and a couple of mates jump em and make sure they never play the piano again!! know what I'd do lol

My immediate impression after reading your post is that it may be a neighbour that's annoyed with the sudden appearance of cars parked up and wanted to find out who they belonged to !! Could be mistaken but something to consider

Hi, it's Steve who you got the wheels from. It's amazing isn't it we were talking about this when you came round. Can you move the cars anywhere, loan them to friends or something just to keep them out of the way ?

Cant believe you have even bothered with a number in the window - stick them away and advertise online

Around here the council would have Hi-Ab'd them away as they have a purge on cars being sold by the side of the road or on council land. Also remember DVLA have been seizing cars on private land if not insured or taxed. Old car = easy to take to a scrap yard and weigh in. I reckon that happens more with older cars than being nicked to clone / sell parts etc - scraped at dodgy yard for £150 is easy money for a "traveller". Their eyes would light up with Volvo's as more weight means more pennies !
