This is a tentative for sale advert for my Discovery. Well, it's not tentative as I'm definitely looking to sell it, but I've got to wait a couple of weeks for a reg transfer to go through, but it's in daily use and available for viewings and test drives if anyone is interested.
I've owned the car for just coming up to two years and it's never let me down in that time. I've not had a single mechanical fault with it, but I have improved and replaced a number of parts.
The car has covered 93,000 miles from new. This will rise slightly as the car is still in daily use, but won't be covering any long distances.
MOT until November and taxed until the end of July. The car is finished in Epsom Green and is a 3.9i V8 ES Auto.
It was a really good car when I bought it. Mechanically excellent, very clean interior and bodily very good. It had been professionally resprayed a couple of years back and a good job was made of it.
The rear chassis, which is a known problem area on these cars was completely rust free and the underside was very, very good. The only issue was with the O/S Sill. It could have been repaired, but I decided to do a proper job and replace both sills and the lower B-Post sections so it looks factory. At the same time I cleaned off the entire underside, stonechipped the lot and Dinitrol cavity waxed everywhere. I also painted the rear axle and all solid parts in rust proof paint.
Whilst I was under there I changed a couple of bushes which looked a little perished, both rear shock absorbers as the O/S was worn and it had the usual Discovery "lean". I also changed the entire exhaust as there was a slight blow on the rear section and thought it was best to do a proper job even if it didn't "need" changing.
The car comes with original dealer wallet with all handbooks and service books with full service history and lots of receipts from Land Rover Dealers totalling thousands of pounds. Car was originally supplied by Hartwell's and re-sold later by Marshall's, so has been through some well-known Land Rover dealers. It will be freshly serviced prior to sale including a Transmission service.
All standard apart from Magnecor leads, which is a good upgrade for these V8's and they are LPG-friendly if you fancy going down that route. And a performance panel filter to bring out that awesome V8 burble a little more.
All five wheels have matching Goodyear tyres and I've only just fitted a new spare wheel cover.
When I bought it the car had the usual Discovery Rusty bumpers. The front was blast cleaned and re-painted professionally. The rear was holed and too far gone, so I bought a brand new item and also new lights for it. I also re-fabricated and painted the metal sections in the original sidesteps.
Bodily the car is excepetional, has no dents, corrosion or scratches to speak of. The wheels are unmarked, the underside are unmarked. The interior is exceptionally clean. The headlining is nowhere near as bad as most Discoverys are, but it has dropped slightly in places.
Any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I've loved every minute of owning and driving this beast, but I finally decided it was just a little overkill for the pottering about I generally use it for, but it is a very reluctant sale. I have, however purchased a new car, so need to look at moving it on to a good new home.
I'm looking for £1800 which I think is fair for such a great example of a Discovery, There can't be many about as good as this one
