This must be one of the most belated readers ride threads of all time since I'm taking it off the road Sunday, but it's done me well and so deserves some attention.
I bought this 205 XE on ebay because I needed a car on very short notice to start a new job back in November. It was a total bargain, and after a cheap and easy service it went into daily duty and has covered over 7k miles without a hiccup. Testament to anyone who thinks old cars can't be reliable!
I bought some some steels from a 106 with nearly new tyres for £35, and some seats from an XS for £10.99. Yes, 10 pounds 99 pence. And they're mint. And some of the nicest seats I've come across. A quick going over with the machine polisher brought up the paint really well too, along with some trim dye it ended up looking great!
All in all, I've loved this car for costing me next to nothing (50mpg average!) so here are some photos from today to mark the end of my time with it.
