Eeek! Your steering controlled by electrics! I drove a new Renault recently with electric steering, it felt like using a Playstation type force feedback steering wheel...

That speed controller thingie looks to me like a little box of tricks someone has produced to get the whole thing working, not an original VX part as I assume in it's intended home it would be ECU controlled. So I'd say you'll need that fo sho as non-speed-adjusted power steering is TERRIBLE. Especially since the Corsa would be tuned for grannies parking it outside Tesco, so without the proper controller it might well just be light at all speeds. Having turned on "City" on a Punto at 95mph, I can confirm super-light power steering at speed is pretty dangerous

I drove a lancia ypsilon from Milan to Florence last year. Didn't realise it had two settings on the power steering. I had driven on city all the way. What with the winding mountain autostrada, the clearly mad Italian truck drivers and the pouring rain it made for quite a nerve racking journey. Once I'd got the hang of turning city off at anything over 30kph it was great. I hadn't even realised electric power steering existed untill I leant on the steering wheel with the ignition on and it just started turning round!

have a look on the 16v mini forum - a few of the guys are fitting them. i think you have to get the ecu fiddled with ti get it to work, or buy an aftermarket black box. i think it is cheaper to get the ecu sorted though

Think you need cr500dom for this. IIRC he was going to run a corsa leccy column from a dta ecu, giving mapped PAS to run more camber/castor without becoming the bionic man (I think he might be that already tho ). not sure about just wiring 'em up tho, you wouldn't want to end up with floaty light steering much above slow cornering speeds

mate of mine runs corsa EPS in a sunbeam with a Kwikrack. he got a kit with a box of tricks from "clark motorsport" that makes the steering adjustable on a variable resistor
