Up for sale is my mates 106 Quicksilver, as it has just failed its MOT and we cannot spare the time to fix it up. I've been all over the car and I can confirm that the listing is accurate. It's not bad apart from the stuff below, I think it may make someone so inclined a nice little project. Or if you wanted to break it you'd easily make your money back.
From the ebay listing (brackets are my comments):
Peugeot 106 Quiksilver 1.4l petrol failed its mot on a number of things:
Horn not working
Rear offside fog lamp not working
offside front windscreen wiper does not clear windscreen effectively
nearside (effected nearside stop lamp) rear position lamp(s) adversely affected by the operation of another lamp
offside front headlamp aim beam image obviously incorrect
offside front lower suspension arm has excessive play in a ball joint
nearside rear axle beam has excessive vertical movement between stub axle and axle beam (this will require either a new rear axle or a rebuild of the bearing)
advisories:
driver side door hinge deteriorated but the door can still be readily open and shut (the door hinge is separating from the shell at the weld- I've never seen this before but it should be simple to fix. If bought locally I don't mind helping weld this back up at some point in the future)
offside rear position lamp(s) has light source not illuminating, but not more than 50%
nearside front lower suspension arm has slight play in a ball joint
oil leak
other problems, possible head gasket is going, car still runs and is not overheating and boot demister/deicer not working.
Ok so now the good has had new spark plugs, air filter, discs and pads and new tyres. Discs, pads and tyres has had around 200 miles or less through them, body work is almost perfect, a few marks but nothing serious.
no tax or mot
